Rwanda: Update COVID-19 (10 February 2021)

Update COVID-19 10 February 202110 February 2021 — One hundred, and thirty (130) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4963 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases sixteen thousand, nine hundred, and forty-one (16941). To date, thirteen thousand, three hundred, and eighty-nine (13389) patients have recovered, including four hundred, and one (401) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is three thousand, three hundred, and twenty-three (3323) and two hundred, and twenty-nine (229) deaths. The 3 new deaths are three male of 85 and 56 years in Kigali, and 69 years old in Gatsibo District.

The new cases are in Kigali (39), Nyamagabe (22), Gicumbi (11), Nyagatare (11), Kirehe (7), Muhanga (6), Ngororero (6), Ruhango (6), Kamonyi (4), Karongi (4), Ngoma (4), Rubavu (3), Gisagara (2), Huye (2), Musanze (1), Gatsibo (1), and Burera (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.

Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
